Over the weekend, Buffalo Riverworks hosted the 20th Annual Music Is Art Festival. This annual festival brings local musicians, artists, dancers, and other creative outlets together to share their work with their community. With this being a well anticipated event every year throughout Buffalo, there was a lot to look forward to. I sat down with my friend & MIA committee member Michael DeLano to walk me through on what took place this past Saturday.

“This year might have been our biggest year yet,” says DeLano. “We had over 200 local bands on 24 different stages, with a mix of dancers, artists, video art, Dj sets, and even local food & drink vendors”.

Starting at 11am and going till midnight, thousands of local music fans have made their pilgrimage to Buffalo Riverworks to see their favorite local artists/musicians, and to see what our music community has to offer.

“Tonight was really special for us all, and for the others who have been coming out every year for the past 20 years really speaks volumes about this community, and how special it really is.” From local rock bands to hip hop artists, and jazz groups to jam bands, there were many different kinds of genres to listen to throughout the whole day.
