Some summer nights, I found that I like to keep back and enjoy a new movie. Whether it is going out to the theatre or to drive-in. My favorite is always going to the drive-in on a warm summer night, when the movie is starting and the sun is going down behind the screens. I always went to the Transit Drive-in as a kid and still like to go as often as possible. Whether you enjoy watching at home, in the theatre, at the drive-in, or wherever it is a fun thing to do in the summertime.
Some popular movies coming out this summer include “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” “The Barbie Movie,” “Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1,” “Oppenheimer,” “Kanadahar,” “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny,” “The Flash,” “The Machine,” “Hypnotic,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Spider-man: Across the Spider-Verse,” “Fast X,” “Insidious: The Red Door,” and “Gran Turismo,” to name just a few.
There are a lot of big series movies coming to the big screen this summer. Guardians of the Galaxy will have it’s third and final volume out. The Fast and Furious series has it’s tenth movie coming out. The Transformers has another movie in the series, “Rise of the Beasts.” Which stars Pete Davidson, Peter Dinklage from Game of Thrones, and many more. Mission Impossible has it’s first part of the final two part ending of the series coming this summer. The two movies were delayed due to Covid but are supposedly to be a send off for Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt. Harrison Ford will be back for a new Indiana Jones movie this summer called “The Dial of Destiny.” “The Machine” is an upcoming action-comedy about comedian Bert Kreischer’s viral stand-up story, starring actors Bert Kreischer as himself, Mark Hamill as Albert Kreischer who is Bert’s father), and Jimmy Tatro, as young Bert. Bert talked on his podcast “2 Bears, 1 Cave,” about the upcoming film, praising the film crew for, “the most amazing sets,” as they spent several months shooting in Serbia. Bert also went on stating how amazing the cast was, and about working alongside with Mark Hamill, “He is so funny, and is such an amazing actor.” Coming to theaters the 26th of May if your looking for a fun action packed comedy. So a lot of good options for some of the continued series and series finales, although with some good new movies.
Now the two movies I am really looking forward to are “Oppenheimer,” and “Kandahar.” “Oppenheimer,” is a movie about American scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer and his aid in the creation of the atomic bomb. The movie directed by Christopher Nolan has many stars including Cillian Murphy as Dr. Oppenheimer, along with Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Robert Downey Jr., and Gary Oldman. The trailer looks phenomenal and looks like an award winning maserpiece. Cillian Murphy who has been in a lot of big films in recent years, had been dying to get a bigger role in one of Christopher Nolan’s movies. As fans anxiously await the Christopher Nolan and Cillian Murphy collaboration, Cillian Murphy had stated to the AP on how incredible it was to get the opportunity finally. “I’m really proud of the movie and I’m really proud of what Chris has achieved. This was, for sure, a special one, certainly because of the history with me and Chris. We were not walking around the set high fiving, but it did feel special.” The movie is set to release on July 21st, 2023. The other film I am anxiously awaiting is “Kandahar,” which is a Gerald Bulter movie, about a CIA operative with his translator who uncover a covert mission in Afghanistan, and they must flee special forces. This action thriller who was also produced by Butler, will hit theaters May the 26th. Both of these films look like awesome movies to go see at the drive-in or at the theater. Many more coming out later in the summer as well, so much to look forward to in cinema.
